Tom Ferjo performed at our Yacht Club on a regular basis, playing original and creative renditions of classic songs... those nights when members knew Tom would be at the club were extra busy, we always needed a second bartender!

Tom has always provided an evening of delightful entertainment interacting with his audience. His genre of music consists of ballads spanning several decades that fit with all age group of our club members.  His sound equipment is first class and Tom knows how to keep his volume at a level suitable for dining, conversation and dancing.

 It was disappointing to learn that Tom was re-locating, as he had become our most popular entertainer.

As much as carefully chosen ingredients flavor a dish presented to
customers, music that fills the room can have an equally important role in the
atmosphere of a restaurant. Over the last 8+ years I have had the pleasure of
working with, and knowing Tom Ferjo.

He is responsible and reliable and in regard to his technical ability he is an
excellent musician. He can read a crowd and adjust the volume or set list
accordingly. Tom’s talent for engaging the crowd goes beyond technicality. He is
flexible and has a wide range of music to please customers of all ages. His youngest
fan in our restaurant was 4; he would often join Tom with his tiny Ukulele. It always
made the room swoon. He takes requests and learns regular customer’s favorite
songs and names, occasionally changing a song lyric to spotlight a particular
customer or sometimes employee. This adorable collaboration was much to the
delight of all.

So adept at in his field, he can multitask while playing, which is advantageous
in a restaurant. For example, while playing as well as singing, he can take direction
that we have a birthday in the house, learn the customer’s name and be prepared to
stop mid-song to break into “Happy birthday”. It’s quite seamless, as he sees the
candles approaching he pauses playing, announces the celebration and sings to
them. Then without missing a beat he returns to the original song he left off on, as to
not disappoint anyone really enjoying it. It’s impressive and it really makes people
feel special.

Tom is a truly delightful individual. A short summary of his abilities and
character cannot sum up what years of knowing him can reveal. He is kind, moral
and creative. He is funny and intelligent; he loves learning and music almost as
much he does his lovely wife.

His fine character is easily discernible spending time watching him play. He
always drew a crowd, by reputation of course, but also by promoting our restaurant
on social media. He goes above and beyond to provide an ideal atmosphere.
Tom and his music are missed very much at Think Café. We have yet to host
musicians that meet the high standards we grew to love working with him. He is
personable with staff and customers, fills the room with music, and would be a
fortunate addition to any establishment.
